LYNG, Kevin J.
August 9, 1937 – January 18, 2012
Peacefully on Wednesday January 18, 2012, after a two year battle with
Mesothelioma Cancer. Beloved husband of fifty two years to Sandra
(Altimas). Dear father of Shaun (Genevieve Pouliot), Bruce (Gloria
Kulba), Mark (Ticia Bednarz), and Sharon (Nicola Hribar). Son of the
late Edward Lyng and Veronica Larocque. Brother to Ann D’Asti (John),
James (Carole), the late Gerald (Sheila), Brian (Liz), and Rev. John
Lyng. He will be dearly missed by his five granddaughters and eight
grandsons – “We love you Poppa”
Kevin began his teaching career in 1958 with the Montreal Catholic
School Commission, then moved on to become an elementary school
principal for the Chomedy Laval School Commission, eventually retiring
in 1993 as high school administrator for Sacred Heart Middle School.
The family wish to thank all the doctors and staff at the St. Therese
C.L.S.C. (primarily Julie Lariviere), the Drapeau Deschambault
Palative Care Unit (especially Dr. Lortie), and the Sacré Cœur
Hospital, for providing Kevin with wonderful care and support.
Visitation will be held on Saturday January 28, 2012 at
Transfiguration of Our Lord Parish 11775, Filion Street, Cartierville,
from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Immediately followed by a funeral Mass and
reception.
